Lindsay Kowalski, Founder

Growing up, travel was a key part of life. Coming from Rochester NY, there were summer trips to Vancouver for ski training, and winter trips to the Caribbean to warm up and spend time with our extended family. Later working in education, summer vacations opened the possibility to explore further, getting to see destinations at various points in Europe.

Now with a family of my own, and two boys who are at the age where traveling helps to appreciate new perspectives and cultures, my husband and I are consciously looking to spread the love of adventure into their lives. In the past few years we’ve managed to make it to Hawaii, Costa Rica, Greece, Italy  and Dominica, exploring a wide variety of natural environments, local restaurants, thrill-seeking adventures, and unique hotels to relax and regroup. I’d be delighted to help you find places you feel passionate to explore and share with others.

Q&A with Lindsay

  • I would lean towards a nature explorer but I love getting lost in the winding streets of a new city. When I do go to a new city after a while I crave some nature time but you will never catch me camping.

  • Window. I need something to lean against.

  • Australia to finally meet my childhood penpal that I first started corresponding with in third grade. Our kids now send letters to each other also!

  • I like to go non-stop at the beginning of my trips and then have a few days at the end to really slow it down. Typically I am up early (because I can’t sleep in at home so add in a time change and I am up even earlier) to explore the sites with the least amount of other people. After a full day of touring I love to be able to come back to a gorgeous hotel to take a swim in the pool or head to the spa before dinner.

  • Slippers for the hotel room

  • Even though I am not a big wine drinker and I have never been to wine country, Sideways still makes me laugh out loud.

  • I’ll go anywhere, anytime! I wouldn’t argue with a giant bowl of Cacio e Pepe in Rome right now.
